Team Misquah Raises $22,763 at Ottawa Race Weekend

What a whirlwind weekend!

A combined monumental effort, Team Misquah has $22,763 and counting through Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend’s Scotiabank Charity Challenge.

A cloudy and stormy Saturday couldn’t dampen Team Misquah’s spirit as everyone grinned for a photo opp at City Hall. The Misquah Moose danced through the 2km race and made some friends along the way. The 5km saw the largest group of Team Misquah runners who jogged, sprinted and laughed through the crowds in their bright orange race shirts. All races were cheered on by campers and loved ones who made beautiful cheer signs that would make Van Gogh jealous.

It was obvious that Camp Misquah was a celebrity charity at Race Weekend. Before the 10km start, the Misquah Moose chatted with John Stanton, President and Founder of the Running Room and Race Weekend organizer. John hadn’t heard the ‘Great Big Moose’ song yet and was very impressed by the Misquah Moose’s singing ability. The Moose was also spotted on CTV news, sprinting by.

The donation site remains open to at least mid June, so there’s still time to get the total donation number up to $25,000! It is a great way for Camp Misquah to receive support, as 100% of the money goes to the Camp (no bank fees) and an instant tax receipt is issued to the donor.
